Mark Burton

Mark is a former Mayor and Councilmember for the City of Manhattan Beach.  He is also a former Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles. During his career as a City Attorney, Mark served as a Prosecutor, Trial Attorney and General Counsel of several City departments including the LAPD, LAFD and the Los Angeles World Airports. More recently, Mark served as President of the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club. Mark and his wife Dickie raised their four children in Manhattan Beach.

Mark joined the Roundhouse Board in 2017 after providing consistent support while serving on the Manhattan Beach City Council. Mark’s goal on the Roundhouse Board is to continue its rich tradition of teaching children about the sea animals that live off our coast and the importance of respecting our ocean environment. To undertake this goal, he is particularly interested in providing free transportation and classes to underserved children from disadvantaged neighborhoods.
