Off-Site Programs

Bring the aquarium to your school with the  Roundhouse Aquarium Outreach Van for Education (ROVE)!

One of the greatest aspects of education is that it can take place anywhere. With our Roundhouse Aquarium Outreach Van for Education (ROVE), we can bring the aquarium to your classroom, fairs, festivals, public and corporate events! ROVE offers opportunities for hands-on learning stations on marine science and conservation.

  • Discover the rich marine life in Santa Monica Bay
  • Learn about the connections between humans and our natural environment
  • Understand how our daily actions affect our marine ecosystems
  • Explore watershed connectivity and interactions

Participants gain the opportunity to touch marine animals native to the Santa Monica Bay.

For more details about our variety of Offsite/Outreach Programs, please contact dawn@roundhouseaquarium.org.

Limited grants for qualifying schools are available. Fees apply for other ROVE visits.

Health and Safety

Students and Teachers should not attend the outreach program if they are not feeling well.  This includes a fever within the last 24 hours, coughing, or vomiting within the last 48 hours.  Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days should also not attend.  Masks are not required, but are still recommended.  If a student becomes ill during the program, it is the responsibility of the teachers to take care of that student.

We are continuing to clean supplies regularly.

We ask that hand sanitizer is not used prior to touching in our touch tank, but hand washing is recommended.

We are continuing to follow LA County Department of Public Health Guidelines, and will update our health and safety measurements as needed.
