Our Volunteer Opportunities 

Roundhouse Interpretive Volunteer

Experience the inner-workings of an aquarium by becoming a Roundhouse Interpretive Volunteer! Our volunteers help us to create an inviting and educational atmosphere that connects our visitors directly with our oceans. Volunteers change lives and make a positive difference at the aquarium!

To join our Roundhouse volunteer crew, review our requirements, fill out the online application, and attend both days of orientation and training.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Roundhouse Interpretive Volunteers are required to commit at least 2 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months at the aquarium.
  2. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.
  3. Duties involve public interpretation of basic topics of marine biology and conservation.

CURRENT VOLUNTEERS

Summer Junior Camp Counselor

Spend your summer at the aquarium, in the sun and at the beach. Our Junior Camp Counselors assist with the Roundhouse Aquarium Summer Science Beach Camp. Campers ages 4-10 experience waves of excitement doing science activities, learning about the ocean animals, creating crafts, and playing in the water. With up to 30 campers, our Junior Camp Counselors become an important part of our team, supervising the campers and keeping the day filled with fun! Gain skills associated with teaching, working with children, staying organized and keeping up in a fast-paced environment! You’re not just gaining unforgettable memories, you’re building your resume and rocking new skills too!

REQUIREMENTS

1. Roundhouse Interpretive Volunteers are required to commit at least 3 weeks, Monday through Friday 8 AM – 1 PM, in order to become a Junior Camp Counselor. Dates run from July 6th to August 14th.

2. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

3. Duties involve supervising campers, keeping the aquarium clean before, during and after camp, assisting with activities, prepping for the next day, etc.
