Julie Vannordstrand
Julie is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Roundhouse Aquarium Teaching Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in marine ecology from California State University, Fullerton. Although most of her experience has been in research, working with students and volunteers from diverse backgrounds has inspired her passion for science education and community outreach. She hopes to continue to mentor students and individuals interested in giving back through education and the unique experiences that the Roundhouse Aquarium has to offer.
The ocean has served as her inspiration since childhood and she continues to seek opportunities alongside the staff and volunteer team to connect the local community to topics relating to marine science and conservation. If you catch her at the aquarium, she will most likely talk your ear off about some of our awesome tide pool creatures; sea slugs are one of her favorites!
