Sarah Lagerlund
Sarah started at the Roundhouse as an aquarist intern in September 2017 and joined the staff as a Student Educator and Aquarist Assistant in February 2018. She graduated from Bethel University in Minnesota with a degree in environmental biology. Having grown up in Minnesota, Sarah didn’t have much exposure to the ocean except for family vacations to Florida once a year, but she was always drawn to the diverse array of creatures found in ocean ecosystems and their conservation.
This motivated her to gather all her belongings after graduating and move across the country to Los Angeles, where she had been accepted for several internships (one of them being the Aquarium). When Sarah is not at the Roundhouse, you can find her at her other job working with terrestrial animals, volunteering at a rehabilitation center for marine mammals or helping with various conservation projects.
